For a Woodwind Techniques class, flute basics will be covered along with some excerpts of music by Hovhaness, a Boroadway flute part, and original flute melodies.
As a composer I'll be interviewed by host Heidi Kay Begay about my musical background, with focus on composing techniques, inspiration and performances.

Music on Market, presented by the Music Institute of Ulster and Sullivan Counties, will perform my quartet CARA (flute, violin, viola and cello). The in-person premiere was performed in February, 2020 in NYC by the Cara Quartet. Looking forward to this 'Lite Bites' performance with my flute colleague Stefani! Their program will include music by Mozart and other composers.

Pamela's original project Words into Music received an ArtsWestchester Arts Initiative Award. The project culminates in this exciting free, public, world premiere performance. Based on individual, personal, informal talks with forty Mount Vernon community members, Pamela took their words and turned them into music! The performance will include educational components about Pamela’s experience creating Words into Music and descriptions/ demonstrations of seven different instruments played by three performers. Videoed in 2020, this performance will be the live world premiere.

Pamela's new one-minute solo flute composition Flavours of Color was chosen to be performed for Vox Novus's Fifteen Minutes of Fame. Performed by Alise Alice Alksne, Flavours of Color was among fifteen pieces chosen out of more than ninety entries. Alise's beautiful performance can be heard at 46:39 Flavours of Color by Pamela Sklar (turn up the volume when she begins).
Judging for Music & Stars Awards, an international online Classical competition for all ages.
