Homecoming

Dedicated to and commissioned by Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Flute Clubs, Homecoming is an arrangement of Welsh Lullaby. Previously arranged (beautifully) by the Flute Clubs' former director Elly Ball, I was asked to make a new arrangement which would co-feature exciting jazz chords and phrasing, and unusual unexpected ideas.

I had a lot of fun writing this!

After the performance, a letter on my behalf included this: "the Flute Clubs at Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale commissioned Pamela to write a piece that involved all of their students from all levels. The difficulty of the project was to write parts that the young players could handle while keeping the advanced players challenged, and the audience charmed. The performance was a tremendous success and in fact helped raise money for the purchase of new instruments for the school."
